The iconic Brutus Trimfit shirt, that sold by the millions in the late 60's and 70's, has been relaunched by the founder's son Jonathan Freedman. To ensure details match the original as much as possible, Freedman has returned to the original manufacturer in Hong Kong to produce the shirt in three colour combinations of red tartan, navy gingham and black gingham.

Brutal

Obviously, the mods sounded damn cool—give My Generation a spin if it's been awhile—but they looked damn cool, too. Among their secrets: shirts from Brutus, which is now resurrecting its original 1966 design and (as the name implies) fit. Union Jack cloak not included.

MAGAZINE HOMME /
Et Nunc, Brutus

We're all for collaborations and reinterpretations of classic pieces, but some things are better left alone. To wit: Brutus, whose gingham Trimfit shirts—and yes, there's truth in that name—helped define British mod style in the late sixties and seventies, is getting back in the game with three colorways produced to original specs from the original Trimfit forms. In other words: It's not a chip off the old block; it is the old block.
